What bathroom light fixture for general lighting?
The purpose of this lighting is to have direct light with a fully downward diffusion. In this way, you illuminate the room in its entirety without shadow.
Several types of luminaires are suitable for this use:
- The ceiling lamp,
- The 12v downlights,
- A suspension,
- Or even a chandelier if the height allows it!
Which bathroom fixtures for localized lighting?
Targeted lighting is essential near the sink and mirror and it must be powerful. You'll need it for shaving, makeup, or just looking in the mirror. Inspired by the lighting of the mirrors of celebrities used for makeup, your face will be perfectly illuminated. Choose opal glass for your fixtures so that they do not dazzle you and place them neither too high nor too low, otherwise, the dark circles of your face will be accentuated.
For this, many ranges of luminaires are available:
- The wall lamp by two attached to either side of the mirror, or a single placed above the sink without being too high because it will create shadows on your face,
- Halogen recessed spotlights or 12v led. Avoid compact fluorescents for this use. Halogen is that light closest to daylight,
- Lighting integrated into the mirror with illuminated mirrors
